Photo by @christian_foto A mother carries her baby in a traditional blanket called "Aguayo" at La Cancha Market, in Cochabamba. The "Aguayo" is a fabric used to carry the babies. Carrying our babies close to our bodies brings them security and confidence. It also stimulates the child's senses. "La Cancha" is one of the largest and most popular markets in Latin America. You can find from vegetables and fruits to the latest technology such as plasma tvs or computers of the latest generation. La Cancha is in fact is an area that includes several markets, fairs, shops and outlets, located in the south of the city, near the old train station and a few blocks from the bus terminal. This picture was taken during an assignment for National Geographic Travel for the article entitled "A Journey to the Homeland of Hot Sauce" Photo by @christian_foto #aguayo #cochabamba #bolivia

Mpopongi Maasai village, Kenya. I arrived to this village after a long motorbike ride with a Maasai rider. Once there, I was invited to have a cup of "chai" (milk tea) in the house of the Maasai family of the woman in the photo. The main room was covered by the smoke of the wood on fire and it was difficult to breath inside, so we stayed at the doorway drinking a cup of tea that I didn't even finish due to the uncomfortable filling of being surrounded by hundreds of bugs running all around the walls near us. It was very charming to see this young mother giving feeding her daughter — Maasai Mara, Kenya | September 2016 Nikon D610 | Nikkor 85mm 1.8G www.roadprovides.com — #kenya #africanchildren #africankids #everydayafrica #eastafrica #africanportraits #igs_africa #travelstory #natgeotravel #photojournalist #photojournalism #documentaryphotographer #documentaryphotography #travelphotography #travelphotographer #traveldeeper #travellovers #reportagespotlight #people_infinity #humanity_shots #spencer_travel_feature #remotexpeditions #traveltheworld #people_and_world #lamedumonde #faces_of_streets #kings_works

I love the inquisitive look of this kid, while his mother stopped for a few seconds in her walk, to be able to pose in front of the camera. I was struck by their clothes: her white shirt, in an area where there are no washing machines (I never travel with white clothes because they get dirty immediately and then there is no way to make them look white again); the impeccably wrapped handkerchief on her head; the red sweater with snowmen on it, in an area where they have never seen it snow… — Series: Life near Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda | October 2016 Nikon D610 | Nikkor 24mm 1.8G www.roadprovides.com — Don't forget to TURN ON post notifications!
